ABOUT ROBYN RUSSO

With more than 18 years\' experience in higher education, I am dedicated to ensuring all students have equitable access to college, and especially to creating inclusive and innovative writing pedagogy. With most of my career spent in public, open-access institutions, I bring a wide range of experience in teaching, faculty development, interdisciplinary collaboration and instructional design. Both my research and teaching is centered in composition and rhetoric, and I have successfully helped thousands of learners from developmental to advanced-level students, always striving to make my classrooms linguistically just spaces. After spending more than seven years a dual enrollment leader, I am also passionate about increasing cross-institutional collaboration and supporting secondary school faculty as they help students make the important transition to college. I have a demonstrated history of successful instructional design work, having created dynamic, learner-centered environments in face-to-face, asynchronous online, synchronous online and hybrid settings. Having earned my Ph.D. in Writing/Rhetoric at George Mason University, I possess a strong research background and use this to advocate for evidence-based best practices in my work.
