ABOUT ROBYN WOOF

I am currently studying a civil engineering degree at the University of Edinburgh with a view to working in the wind industry. I am currently most interested in decommissioning offshore wind farms. I am an undergraduate though and am open minded about possibly working in another area of wind or other renewables. Events work: I am available for supervisor/build manager roles at events in the U.K. or Eire each summer. Events driving work also welcome, 16 years experience on and off road with large vehicles plus trailer. Prefer flatbed and trailer but splitter driving also fine. Open to other events roles if they are unique/tricky/weird/nearby. I personally am abstinent from all intoxicants, but I do not preach. I have worked in the events industry half my life, so I am unshockable and wouldn’t dream of judging how crew enjoy their free time.I am also extremely interested in civil engineering internships particularly in the wind industry.I have worked in a variety of roles in large events for 20 years. I ran my own small business in events transport for a few years whilst working as crew for larger companies and once that business became unviable due to industry changes I focused on my employed work and worked my way up to management roles.I have managed teams of 4-25 people both directly for capacity events as the overall lead of the site and production crew and for 10-150k capacity events and large contractors as manager or team leader within a larger hierarchy. The bulk of my management experience is in the practical side of events. However I have also managed large teams of artists and am comfortable managing multi disciplinary teams. I try to manage in a way which brings out the best from the differing work cultures between different specialisms and different individuals rather than trying to squeeze everyone into the same style of working.I have worked abroad both for a local company and on behalf of a UK based company. I have managed and worked in teams made up of many different nationalities and am aware of and adaptable to different cultures.I enjoy sailing, walking, travel and going to festivals. I am a new traveller and have lived nomadically for many years.
