WORK HISTORY
Communications Director, Advocacy @National Audubon Society
New York, NY, US
I currently serve as the primary communications point for the climate team at the National Audubon Society. I was initially brought on to help launch the Survival By Degrees climate report, which I helped brand. Since the successful launch of that report, I have worked closely with the federal and state policy teams to amplify legislation and policies that advance NAS’ climate goals, and I have worked with the science team to promote original research related to climate change and bird habitat. I adapt national climate messaging for state communicators, and perform strategic local communications where there are no teams or where communications staff need support, working closely with state or regional staff. In addition to the Survival By Degrees report, I have promoted our position on responsibly sited renewable energy as a benefit to birds, redesigned a media training curriculum for the organization, oversaw a team that revised the organization’s webpages on climate, and helped integrate climate and environmental justice messaging into all of the work we do.
