As the Deputy Chief Economist at ATB Financial-the largest Alberta-based financial institution with assets of over $60 billion-I provide useful analysis of the Alberta economy, the forces that shape it and the challenges and opportunities affecting the prosperity of Albertans.I am a strategic thinker with over three decades of experience unpacking economic and public policy topics. From project design to the presentation of findings and recommendations, I have deep expertise in all aspects of the economic and public policy analysis process. Known for my quirky sense of humour and passion for fact-based discussion, I know how to ask the right questions, how to engage a wide range of stakeholders and how to get key messages across.I am the co-author (with Todd Hirsch) of three books:\"The Boiling Frog Dilemma: Saving Canada From Economic Decline,\"\"Spiders in Space: Successfully Adapting to Unwanted Change,\" and \"Spiders in COVID Space: Adapting During and After the Pandemic.\"Over my almost two decades with the Canada West Foundation, I had the opportunity to work on a broad array of topics including the economy, local government, demographic trends, the non-profit sector, public opinion, regional cooperation, environmental policy, democratic reform and public finance.I am passionate about art, inclusion and recently served as the Chair of the National accessArts Centre-Canada\'s largest and oldest disability arts organization.
