About Rob Malin

I am a Senior Vice President, Trust Advisor and Fiduciary Counsel at Pinnacle Trust and Investment Services. In my role as Trust Advisor, I manage wealth accounts and administer irrevocable trusts and estates. I work with clients and their advisors in the development and implementation of tax-efficient wealth transfer plans. In my role as Fiduciary Counsel, I guide firm leadership and advisors on fiduciary issues, track meaningful fiduciary claims and potential claims against the firm, review and analyze trusts and other legal documents and prepare legal documents such as settlement and refunding agreements. I am a member of the Trust Advisor Committee and the Directors Trust Committee where I advise on fiduciary and legal risk issues affecting the Trust Department. I am a candidate for my LL.M. in Tax at the University of Florida which I expect to complete in the Spring of 2025. I am one of 26 attorneys in Tennessee certified as a specialist in Estate Planning Law (as of January, 2024). I am the Chair of the Trust Committee and Vice-Chair for the Trust Legislative Committee for the Tennessee Bankers Association. The Trust Legislative Committee is responsible for modernizing Tennessee\'s Trust laws. I am a member of the Executive Committee for the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Trust and Trust Legislative Committees for the Tennessee Bankers\' Association and the Estate Planning Council of Middle Tennessee. As an Attorney, I was honored with the rating of AV Preeminent® by my peers on Martindale-Hubbell. This is the highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of my lawyer peers ranked me at the highest level of professional excellence for my legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.I graduated tenth in my class, magna cum laude, from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis. During law school, I served as law clerk to the Honorable Robert S. Benham, of the Probate Court of Shelby County. Prior to wealth management, I was a partner with the law firm Williams McDaniel, PLLC, a boutique estate planning and trust administration law firm in Memphis, Tennessee. I have served by appointment of the Shelby County Probate Court as Successor Trustee, Guardian ad Litem and Attorney ad Litem in complicated Conservatorship cases and as an Administrator in a contested probate administration. I have also substituted as professor for a Trust Law class at the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law.
