ABOUT ROB JEFFERY

Rob is a Tax Partner with Deloitte, providing tax and business advice to Canadian companies and their shareholders. He draws upon his experience in tax & finance leadership roles with private and public companies to provide practical advice for clients.Rob has previously led the tax function for a national Canadian food retailer where he worked closely with business units to implement a variety of transactions, while improving the effectiveness of the tax function. He has also served as CFO for a family office with an emphasis on real estate development and other investments.Rob has lectured on taxation and contributed to the development of professional accounting education within Canada. He has lectured for CPA Nova Scotia and tutored the In Depth Tax course for CPA Canada. In addition, he has taught taxation courses as part-time faculty at Dalhousie University and worked with the Atlantic School of Chartered Accountancy.Rob currently Chairs the Fred C. Manning School of Business Advisory Board at Acadia University. He was previously a member of the Board of Directors of CBC / Radio-Canada and past Chair of the CBC Pension Board of Trustees. In addition, he previously served as a member of the Audit & Finance Committee of the Canadian Medical Association and various tax committees with CPA Canada. Rob is a past board member of Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Greater Halifax and Chartered Professional Accountants of Nova Scotia.Rob is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), Certified Public Accountant (Colorado) and earned an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. He is a graduate of Acadia University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) degree and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Ivey Business School. He resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia with his wife and three daughters.
