   Perform catastrophe modeling duties at this firm offering specialized reinsurance broking expertise, strategic advisory services and industry-leading analytics. Use computer-assisted calculations to estimate losses potentially sustained due to a catastrophic event, such as a hurricane or earthquake, and help guide insurers’ underwriting strategy and/or reinsurance purchases. Originally hired to assist brokers with administrative needs, risk analysis and contracts. Received “Employee Contribution Award” in 2005 for exceptional teamwork, then promoted in 2006 to catastrophe modeler, in 2010 to assistant vice president, and in 2018 to vice president. Assist clients on gathering and verifying quality/integrity of most detailed information available, including site locations/geocoding data, physical exposure characteristics, and insurance coverage financial terms. Format data accordingly for input into complex catastrophe models (RMS and AIR). Assess loss estimates that models predict are associated with a particular event or set of events, as well as critical result changes and variances due to exposure and model changes, and present to brokers and client executive management. Provide information to actuaries for reinsurance market pricing. Assist clients in using cat modeling to complete rating agency filings and help determine their policyholder premiums charged in catastrophe-prone areas.Calculate estimated losses from real-time events, conduct ad hoc post-event analyses, and provide portfolio management benefits and optimization recommendations to clients and prospects, as needed.
