The Leadership ARTS Mentoring Program (LAMP) teaches leadership skill development through digital media arts education for income-qualifying youth 14-24 years old. The mission of LAMP is to help youth become more self-sustainable, overcome personal barriers, and contribute positively to their families and communities.As a LAMP Music Instructor, I specialized in teaching interns the intricacies of music production and artistic development. My role encompassed curriculum development, personalized student support, and mentorship to foster both artistic and professional growth.Curriculum Development: Designed comprehensive 10-week course outlines and daily lesson plans, ensuring a structured and engaging learning experience.Student Assessment & Support: Monitored daily attendance, addressed individual concerns, and collaborated with Art and Youth Program Directors to provide holistic support covering academic, emotional, and personal aspects.Professional Development Integration: Equipped interns with skills for employment opportunities, navigating the workforce, and exploring entrepreneurial ventures within the music industry.Project Management: Guided interns in producing a minimum of four complete songs/tracks each and prepared them for a year-end showcase, emphasizing adherence to deadlines and quality deliverables.Mentorship: Supported interns in developing products and services aimed at income generation and job creation, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset.
