Author and women’s advocate Robin Finn is asking Los Angeles mothers, What just happened? Over the past two years of lockdown, homeschooling, illness, isolation, and work instability due to the COVID-19 pandemic, women bore the brunt of caring for others, including children, grandchildren, parents, friends, and co-workers. Finn believes these historical narratives need to be explored, captured, and shared. She created a writing workshop “What Just Happened? Mothering Through the Pandemic and Beyond,” and a grant from the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs is now making it a reality. “Whether you mothered children, friends, neighbors, or a co-worker through the COVID outbreak, these stories are important and have historical significance,” says Finn, an author and teacher with master’s degrees in both public health and spiritual psychology. Finn is also the founder of L.A-based women’s writing program Heart. Soul. Pen, which she created to encourage women to share their voices. “Too often, women think their stories don’t have value. This is not true. Women’s stories matter, and their experiences are worthy of sharing.”

ABOUT ROBIN FINN

I am a writer, educator, speaker, workshop facilitator, widely published personal essayist, advocate for women’s voices, and the founder and creator of Heart. Soul. Pen. writing workshops where deep-dive creativity meets soul-centered writing for women, and the author of the new book,\'Heart. Soul. Pen: Find Your Voice on the Page and in Your Life\'(Morehouse, May 2024). As a speaker, educator, and facilitator, I bring years of expertise in public health, spiritual psychology, and writing to every workshop, class, course, and event I offer, guiding others to feel seen, heard, and understood through the power of writing. I frequently speak on the importance for women unleashing their radical self-expression and on writing as self-care in times of transition, such as: motherhood, midlife, menopause, grief and loss, empty nesting, and other transitions. I am a cum laude graduate of UCLA and hold master\'s degrees in both public health from Columbia University and in spiritual psychology from the University of Santa Monica. My work has been featured in national and international press, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, BuzzFeed, and more. I believe that everyone has a creative voice. Together we write, grow, transform, and connect through writing and sharing. You do not need to be a \'writer\' to unleash your radical self-expression. Writing is healing. All levels of writers are welcome. To book a writing workshop or writing party, or to have me lead a transformative writing workshop for your retreat or event, please email me at r••••@robinfinn.com. Prior workshops include: Columbia University Alumni, Marco Polo App, Jewish Women’s Initiative, SoCal Wellness Summit, the City of Los Angeles Dept of Cultural Affairs, Find Your Lighthouse, Better After Fifty, Camp Isabella Freedman, UCLA Women\'s Writing Weekend, and more.\"Robin Finn’s beautiful consciousness and personal experiences assist others in recognizing their own truth in the worthiness of their being.\"-Dr. Mary R.
