As a Hearing Officer I manage the disciplinary review process and provide consultation and training in the disciplinary process and performs required record keeping and research activities. I schedule and conduct disciplinary hearings for an urban school system. I work closely with school administrative teams to maintain system-wide consistency in the application of the Student Code of Conduct. I work as an advocate for the school system as a whole with parents, students, administrators and outside agencies. I also advise and consult with teachers, administrators, probation officers, and mental health workers about alternatives to the disciplinary review process.
