I am so pleased to be helping Habitat for Humanity be innovative, in helping people live in safe decent housing they can afford. I am leading its new Habitat and ReStore efforts in Huron County, one of my favourite places on earth, in great towns filled with wonderful people. Thank you to so many staff, volunteers, committee members and families. We are striving to help more people with a greater impact in our community’s housing and accommodation needs for individuals and families.

ABOUT ROBERT M. EVANS
The hallmark of my career is building business, solving strategic problems and responsible growth. I enjoy helping build great teams with combining great technology to achieve more. In addition to my experiences as a software co-Founder, business executive and driver of sales, I’ve held various directorships and board positions in addition to representing my community globally (the City and Region of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada) and locally having advised organizations on Committee and Subcommittee of City Council. My focus areas include Innovation, Travel and Tourism, ICT (Information and Communications Technology), Automotive, Food and Clean Technology as well as Rental, Affordable and Attainable Housing advocacy. My work in innovation has grown scale-up and start-up technology companies, created winning partnerships and wins major customers. One of my fun projects with NBC Sports even won them an Emmy. While promoting Canada and Ontario abroad, we helped make Ontario the worlds largest wind and solar market globally. I also ran to be Mayor of Waterloo bringing an Equity and Housing Plan to the forefront. The policies from our team came from years of research with the higher education industry and housing and accommodations experience in market. My work in Student accommodations and housing helped me create a unique platform, intellectual property and policies. The early results were promising. We applied automation, collaboration and market forces to inefficient markets. Annual housing cost savings for participants was 10 to 12%, and we had less unfair discrimination and show how to unlock new supply faster. I enjoy public speaking and presented globally from Silicon Valley to NYC, London and throughout India, Startup Laurier, Accelerator Centre, Founder’s Embassy, 500 Startups, University of Waterloo’s Economic Development program, MBET, C100, TIE, CDMN, MarsDD and CBC’s Dragons Den.
