My role involves providing expertise both internally and externally on the details of street/urban design that make a difference for pedestrians. Some projects involve assessing whole areas for their pedestrian-friendliness - looking both at fine details (like kerb line or height), area wide details (like street layout, and wider factors (like whether local shops have moved out of town). Recently I\'ve been leading a major research looking at the inclusivity of streets, and whether this is improved or reduced by specific pieces of infrastructure (more here https://livingstreets.org.uk/inclusivedesign).
