In a time where solutions are urgently needed to address not only the infrastructure deficit but to support economic growth, community wellbeing and the environment, it is critical that smart investment decision-making is combined with pragmatic delivery solutions to unlock the right outcomes in a timely and fiscally responsible manner.I am passionate about unlocking infrastructure solutions bogged down by bureaucracy, unnecessary processes, and project partners that resist new and smarter ways to deliver. This requires the right balance of technical expertise with real-world delivery experience, complemented by both commercial acumen and people skills to provide pragmatic and commercially realistic solutions. The value of independence should not be underestimated. It is a rare quality in a sector that is dominated by multidisciplinary practices. True impartiality results in unbiased project leadership and strategic advice. After beginning my career as a civil engineer, I have gained experience in the design, construction, project management and advisory fields for a range of projects in NZ, the UK and Asia. I thrive in large and complex projects in both the public and private sectors, frequently involved with the development of strategies and the establishment of frameworks to enable smarter and more efficient delivery of complex projects. Recent roles have included Auckland Transport\'s Ferry Electrification Programme and Auckland Council\'s Shoreline Adaption Programme, both in response to climate change challenges, the redevelopment of Te Ara Tukutuku, previously known as the Wynyard Point Tank Farm, supporting Crown Infrastructure Partners with the Shovel Ready Programme, and more recently, the development of an Industry Transformation Strategy to support The Department of Internal Affairs with the Three Waters Reform.These experiences have resulted in a particular strength in seeing challenges through a holistic lens, understanding the bigger picture, and identifying smarter ways to unlock benefits and opportunities for clients, project partners and stakeholders. I am excited about the scale of the challenge that lies ahead to address infrastructure inequity, meet the challenges of climate change and unlock value and prosperity for all. I believe in making smart decisions and unlocking efficiency through independence and specialisation, but most importantly through challenging the status quo and doing things differently.
