About Robert Ruder
He was a student sent to learn how to build databases on SQL Server. I asked him what brought him to that class. He told me that his company had invested in software that cost (1990s dollars). But after 6 months they shelved it and never looked back. Why? Because the software didn\'t work the way that they did. Change was not going to be coming in that way. So, I taught him how to build a database that reflected the way they did business. And I remembered.In 2001, I started IDIC Designs: Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations. Businesses should never be bound by the limitations of their software. There is always a way to continuous improvement as individuals and as businesses.Computers are great at doing repetitive things; human beings are great at imagining work that can be done. Don\'t use technology to do things that worked on paper.
