ABOUT ROBERTO BELO-ROVELLA

I am a communicator with experience in storytelling, tours design and guiding, art history workshops, journalistic explainers production, multilingual teams leadership and digital skills training.As a qualified London City of Westminster Guide and Lecturer, I lead underground and street walking tours for the London Transport Museum and private agencies. I also run my own projects under Roberto Walks London, featuring the story of the West End musical theatre, broadcasting and other social and art history aspects of the wonderful British capital.At the BBC, I designed and led the network of Visual and Data Journalism regional hubs producing innovative formats and award-winning content for the BBC World Service\'s digital platforms in 40+ languages. I also set up and directed the BBC News editorial guidance on disputed territories mapping, a true diplomatic effort, essential to produce accurate content across the organisation.Through managing and collaborating with multi-skilled teams (journalists, designers, software engineers, product & delivery specialists), I developed effective team leadership and project governance skills.I graduated in History of Arts and Architecture at Birkbeck, University of London, to develop my deep interest in cultural heritage. In this context, I collaborate with the visitor experience and learning programme at the National Portrait Gallery in London. I also worked with the History of the BBC team in various events and projects including Open House 2025, London East Bank Voices and other outreach projects.Specialties: Human engagement through storytelling in English and Spanish (native).
