About Roberto Piantini Reid
I am a junior architecture student from the Dominican Republic, pursuing a five-year Bachelor of Architecture degree at Cornell University. With a deep interest in design, art, history, theory, culture, and politics, I am passionate about architecture as a field that integrates and reflects these disciplines. To me, architecture is a gateway to enhancing everyday life—one that is informed by history and culture while responding to nature and the environment. It is about creating conversation rather than dictating form, fostering a dynamic exchange between people, spaces, and their surroundings. Without architecture, there is no true life—only empty spaces, lacking the depth, meaning, and connection that shape our experiences and interactions with the world. Through my time at Cornell University’s AAP and various internship experiences, I have developed crucial skills in schematic design, project documentation and development, model making, drawing, and spatial analysis. These experiences have deepened my understanding of design as a dynamic process, where creativity and critical thinking come together to shape meaningful spaces. Environmental preservation and sustainability have always been great motivators for me. Whether through my own initiatives, such as Caimoní Organic Compost, or by collaborating with Cornell University’s Sustainable Design Club, I am always seeking ways to take an active role in creating a more sustainable future. I look forward to connecting with others who share similar interests and passions! Please feel free to reach out - r•••••@cornell.edu
