ABOUT ROBERTO GIORGIO RIZZO

I am a Lead AI Engineer with over 8 years of experience in applied Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and GenAI across academia, research institutions, and industry. My recent focus is on Agentic AI systems, combining LargeLanguage Models (LLMs), RAG, agent tooling, and autonomous reasoning to build next-generation Conversational Agents. I worked on fine-tuning LLMs, integrating Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, and experimenting with multimodal, structured, and unstructured data representations.I have hands-on expertise in AI engineering workflows — from model development to cloud/edge deployment —with projects spanning natural language understanding, audio classification, and smart manufacturing. I have also explored graph-based data representations (Knowledge Graphs) to enhance model reasoning and interaction.My goal is to design scalable and intelligent systems that combine structured data, unstructured content, and user intent, leveraging state-of-the-art GenAI technologies.My background is in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) solutions for designing and optimizing Ultra-Low-Power digital systems, and more recently, in developing software tools to accelerate the adoption of AI technologies in the Manufacturing domain. Specifically, my interests focused on developing software tools to design, optimize, and deploy applications based on Machine Learning and Deep Learning from cloud servers to embedded systems for the IoT.
