Now, perform both roles concurrently. • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of research and development (R&D), quality, manufacturing, and the clinical activities of 8 employees by designing processes, policies, and procedures that advance continuous improvements to operating logistics and workflows and promote synergy. • Partner with cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams of 17 external consultants including legal, intellectual property, regulatory, human resources, accounting, and IT to ensure compliance, optimize business value, and maximize product success. • Engage as a strategic business partner to integrate financial and corporate reporting, corporate policies, and operations of R&D to measure performance and maintain financial liquidity. • Define annual business goals, negotiate budgets/contracts, and explore investment opportunities to mitigate risk and optimize the value of existing and newly acquired businesses, assets, and portfolios. • Research industry trends, analyze market conditions, and assess competitor advantages to standardize and harness appropriate digital technology for greater cohesiveness resulting in improved business performance and collaboration to reduce costs and drive innovation. • Coordinate and host frequent meetings with a matrix of key shareholders and senior executives to discuss clinical work, R&D, financials, and risk mitigation to fine-tune forward thinking initiatives that guaranteed profitability and solvency. Noted Accomplishments: • Spearheaded an aggressive strategic plan to raise $7M in 2 equity financing rounds and led the closing of $4M in debt financing and non-dilutive financing from the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant program. • Saved the company $120K in payroll taxes over 3 years by maintaining awareness of, and taking advantage of, R&D tax credits.
