I am an adaptable, creative leader in the field of environmental conservation, committed to understanding and synthesizing diverse perspectives to achieve meaningful solutions. I hold a PhD in human geography, with an emphasis on the social and political dimensions of environmental management. I have expertise in both the social and biophysical sciences related to biodiversity conservation, ecological restoration, natural resource management, natural hazards, and more. I also have strong research skills including analysis of qualitative, quantitative, and geospatial data, extensive writing experience for diverse audiences, and extensive teaching experience in both the social and ecological sciences. Finally, I have ten years of professional experience in environmental consulting and project management, including developing conservation plans, managing budgets and timelines in project implementation, leading collaborative and interdisciplinary teams, managing client relationship, and facilitating partnerships that span institutional boundaries and incorporate diverse stakeholder viewpoints.My core strengths include- I am an adaptable problem-solver, able to respond to new information as it arises, and respond to challenges with flexibility and creativity- I am a deep and deliberative thinker, committed to understanding the full context of any situation and reaching decisions on the basis of the best possible information - I am a committed and lifelong learner, continually seeking out new challenges, experiences, skills and knowledge- I am an empathic and open-minded listener, committed to building relationships with collaborators and seeing the world through the eyes of others, making me a effective team member and leaderI am highly motivated when working to produce accurate and complete understandings of environmental challenges, and challenging taken-for-granted assumptions or expectations.
