About Robert McConaghy
I bring over 22 years of experience across commercial banking and credit risk. I have worked the full lifecycle. Origination, underwriting, portfolio management, special assets, and resolution. I have managed and advised on portfolios across commercial real estate, C&I, construction, SBA, and distressed assets. I understand how deals are structured, how they perform, and where they break. Most institutions do not fail because of one bad loan. They fail because of patterns. Weak underwriting discipline. Policy drift. Overconcentration. Delayed recognition of deteriorating credits. What I do is identify those patterns early and address them before they impact earnings or capital. I\'ve worked directly with credit committees and boards to evaluate portfolio strength and challenge assumptions. That includes risk rating accuracy, global cash flow, collateral support, covenant structure, and forward-looking stress analysis. I focus on aligning real-world underwriting with stated policy and regulatory expectations, not theoretical models. My approach is direct. Data first. Clear judgment. Decisive action. I am focused on building durable portfolios that perform through cycles. That requires discipline, accountability, and the willingness to call risk what it is, early. Whether working inside an institution or advising one, I bring an independent perspective that strengthens credit culture, improves decision-making, and protects the Bank\'s balance sheet.
