ABOUT ROBERT MAYALL
I am a scientist/entrepreneur with a background in Chemistry, Biology and Nanoscience. I am the Chief Technology Officer and also a Co-Founder of FREDsense Technologies, a biotech startup company focused on building the next generation synthetic biology integration platform for the biotech products of the future.During my Ph.D, I focused on creating new sensor designs for pathogenic agents in collaboration with the Canadian military. This culminated in the development of a handheld prototype that can detect the presence of trace quantities of bacteria in a matter of minutes. I also developed sensors for the detection of the measles virus, cannabis compounds, and oil leaks, as well as studied a new class of ultra-stable electrode modifications that could be applied in a variety of fields.Between my scientific and entrepreneurial lives I have developed a passion for designing new technologies and seeing them through to realizable products, and am always interested in collaborating on new and interesting ideas.
