About Robert K. Veeder
Over the last ~15yrs as a Compliance Officer & Consultant, I have sought to utilize a pragmatic partnership approach in working with the business to effectively manage commercial compliance risk while achieving business objectives. Co-developing tailored compliance solutions that are effective and actually supported by the team - that is the key to success! As an experienced Ethics & Compliance Professional, my perspective on compliance stems from a strong commercial background within the pharmaceutical industry. In addition to years of patient care as a pharmacist, I bring a high level of compliance expertise and demonstrated leadership, all grounded in 20+ years of proven success across a broad base of commercial functions (e.g, sales/marketing leadership, training, operations, and strategic business development). I believe it\'s really helpful to have worn those shoes!

As a Compliance Officer at Novavax, I really enjoy being a part of a team that\'s building something to help patients across the globe. My key responsibilities are to: Drive, develop and lead all elements of Novavax global compliance operations in North America, including creation of strategic direction, compliance training and implementation of all aspects of compliance in the region. Partner with key business stakeholders to provide business-oriented and pragmatic guidance to enable achievement of business goals and objectives while adhering to all compliance obligations. Develop and train personnel on company-wide compliance policies and procedures that enhance understanding of applicable laws and regulations while integrating appropriate compliance controls to guide and protect the company\'s operations. Provide timely compliance guidance, reviews, and oversight regarding medical and commercial initiatives, including interactions with HCP/HCOs, payer customers and patients/advocacy groups. Conduct periodic risk assessments, internal reviews, and monitoring/auditing to ensure effectiveness of written controls in mitigating identified compliance risks. Partner with internal (e.g, Legal, HR) and external (e.g, outside counsel/investigators) stakeholders to conduct and resolve investigations of potential misconduct and manage any resulting remediation and/or corrective action plans.
