About Rob Kuschel

I build security programs that protect what actually matters — jet engines, ships, power plants, defense contracts, classified infrastructure, and the people who depend on all of it.As the Controlled Title Holder for Cybersecurity Engineering at GE Aerospace, I\'m the designated authority for systems security within Product Validation across a $122B global manufacturing and R&D organization. That means I sign off on risk, set the standards, and make sure security enables the business rather than slows it down. I\'ve governed risk across systems spanning 12 data centers, 16 cloud environments, 94 shop floors, and 300+ laboratory programs — enabling global sales across 186 countries and securing $30B+ in DoD contracts. My background sits at an unusual intersection: deep, hands-on technical experience combined with executive-level communication and governance. I\'ve architected container security for safety-critical jet engine test infrastructure, led threat modeling and secure design reviews for AI/ML systems in aerospace, built enterprise DevSecOps programs from the ground up, and run incident response teams working directly with legal on reporting obligations. Before GE Aerospace, I served 22 years in the United States Navy, finishing as Deputy Director J6 for a Special Mission Unit under Joint Special Operations Command — leading 240 personnel providing C5ISR capabilities globally for a Tier 1 special operations forces unit. I designed and deployed the first virtualized LAN aboard Virginia-class submarines and led offensive and defensive cyber operations across classified and air-gapped environments worldwide.I hold an active TS/SCI security clearance, CISSP, and CEH certifications, and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from Northern Kentucky University. What drives me: enabling organizations to move fast and securely — without sacrificing one for the other. Whether that\'s embedding security into Agile development, governing OT in safety-critical environments, securing AI/ML pipelines, or translating complex risk into language that executives can act on.If you\'re building something that needs to be both innovative and secure, let\'s talk.
