I am cofounder and principal of KCmodern, a nonprofit organization advocating for the preservation of significant Modern architecture in Kansas City. My responsibilities include historical research, creation of graphics, membership communication, producing events and fundraisers. Other duties are developing and posting content for the KCmodern website as well as Instagram and Facebook, writing articles, generating marketing materials and preparing press releases for event promotion. Additional tasks are coordinating educational opportunities, including tours, exhibitions, lectures and workshops and facilitating membership recruitment. I also review nominations for the National Register of Historic Places. As a result, KCmodern was recognized by Historic Kansas City, the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy for work in the historic preservation of Modern buildings.
