In a two-person team, my primary focus was maintaining and developing their critical permit system, enabling over 100 UK councils to manage public permit purchases efficiently.Key Responsibilities:• Maintained and developed core features for the high-availability permit system used by over 100 UK councils.• Led code refactoring for system efficiency, performance, and compliance.• Designed and developed robust JSON APIs for secure data exchange with third-party council systems.• Implemented integrations with PayPoint external payment providers• Ensured data handling, especially purge functionalities, adhered to GDPR.Notable Achievements:• GDPR-Compliant Data Purge Refactoring: Refactored data purge system into resilient night services, ensuring automated, GDPR-compliant data clearing for all councils.• Secure JSON API Development: Designed/implemented a highly configurable JSON API for PermitSmarti, enabling secure data extraction with auth, logging, and request limiting.• PayPoint Cash Integration: PayPoint integration, allowing cash permit purchases via website-generated QR codes, broadening accessibility.• FlexiPermit: Development of a groundbreaking new product for the private parking industry.
