Using the experience that had been gained in various roles throughout my career i decided to establish myself as a freelance consultant, specialising in helping companies to develop strategies and product ranges that would help them to grow their businesses. Typically, I work with Buyers, Designers and Merchandisers and help them to develop ideas and previous results into new product ideas for future launches. I look closely at where the brand sits within the market, who the customer is, the shape of the range, market trends that affect the business and where the product is being sourced from. From this ‘current situation’ I create a ‘future desired position’ for the business and support them in achieving this goal.I have worked with brands such as Mothercare, where sales on furniture have risen 30% in the last 12 months and Dreams, the bed retailer. I consulted for The Goodbaby group in China and as a result of my expertise and input, sales increased by 10%. I have also worked with a number of smaller, less well known brands in the UK. My area of specialism is wooden products, but I have worked from other products such as upholstery and mattresses.More recently, we set up a children\'s furniture brand called Little House Furniture. We design and source beautiful furniture products that are sold in the UK, China and Middle East.
