Since 2009, I have been covering local, state and federal politics for The Citizen and auburnpub.com. My experience includes reporting on six congressional elections, three statewide elections and the 2016 presidential primary elections in New York. I have won numerous awards for my work, including the Syracuse Press Club\'s 2019 Bill Carey Journalist of the Year award recognizing the top journalist in the region. In 2021, I was a finalist for the national Toner Prize for Excellence in Local Political Reporting. Aside from my political work, I have been The Citizen\'s lead reporter covering the COVID-19 pandemic since March 2020. In that role, I have wrote stories about COVID outbreaks, vaccination clinics and other issues unique to the pandemic.
