Translates strategies and broad plans into workable programs and tactics for delivery of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) services across a set of diverse workplaces (corporate offices, remote nursing stations, health centres, community, and work-from-home settings). Works collaboratively with FNHA’s OHSW Team while applying OHS knowledge and FNHA’s WELLNESS philosophy to sustain an effective, efficient, and compliant Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) operationalized by sound processes, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Works in partnership with managers and employees at all organizational levels to ensure all reasonable and proper measures are taken to protect the safety and health of all workplaces, staff, and visitors. Leads day-to-day delivery of occupational health & safety services while supervising the OHS Program Advisory staff. Provides advice on complex OHS situations and uses sound judgement to determine appropriate escalation of related matters. Develops and implements a framework of policies, plans, procedures and practices, including the necessary controls to mitigate risks for all OHS program areas. Leads program-related initiatives from developing the business case through to final implementation; follows up to ensure business requirements have been addressed. Leverages the workplace health database technology to track OHS activity and performance. Prepares regular status reports on all OHS programs and services including analysis of related statistics and costs; alerts appropriate stakeholders (including the Director, HSW) to critical issues as they emerge. Oversees the design, development, and the delivery of OHS training for employees and supervisors to ensure compliance with regulations and best practice standards in all safety related areas (such as first aid, incident prevention and investigation, and workplace inspections).
