Ensuring the Special Needs community of students at Gunn High School are prepared and ready to achieve their vocational goals upon Graduation:• Exploration of career choices through on-site visits, volunteer opportunities and informational interviews.• Establishing relationships / providing support to employers where our students work - through proactive communication and providing on-the-job support to train students in successful work habits and to enhance employee productivity. • Marketing the employment program in the community for individual placements, vocational goal related options and on-the-job training; participating in community outreach and network activities that can provide job opportunities.• Working with partners in the school district (case managers, psychologists, transition specialists) to provide coordinated and individualized support to the student.• Creating volunteer and paid work experience opportunities with employment partners in the immediate community around Gunn High School.• Maintaining accurate records, including career assessments, student documents, and ongoing progress reports for a case load of students.
