About Robert Davis

Learning to draw from an early age, I started my career in the creative department of an offset printing company while in 10th grade. After high school, I attended commercial art school while employed as Art Director. I later worked in retail advertising at the corporate headquarters of a furniture chain producing ads, full-color circulars/inserts, and collateral. Working in management for a large web-printer, I oversaw the production of Sunday newspaper supplements and inserts for dozens of national retail brands. While employed there I acquired my BBA degree at Georgia State University\'s Robinson School of Business. As Vice President of Pi Sigma Epsilon, I developed a winning advertising plan in competition with 50 universities. Over many years, I worked at a number of advertising agencies in various capacities. With this experience, I launched Davis Advertising, Inc, quickly landing several high-visibility Fortune 500 accounts. My shop eventually added audio recording, video editing, and photography studios to its arsenal. My agency served as beta-test site for Avid Pro-Tools® and Avid Media Composer®. While serving as a website moderator/consultant, I was asked by Avid Technology to write a flagship creative blog entitled “Journey from Concept to Creation.” Blog entries are featured on Linkedin.com. Davis Advertising’s work was featured in “Atlanta’s Best Advertising” and listed in Atlanta’s Top Advertising Agencies. It has received several Telly and Aurora awards. A PSA — a post 911 call for unity — was exhibited at The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Currently residing in metro-Atlanta, I am a writer, producer, advertising artist, and creative director. I love creating illustrations, performing vocals, guitars, and drums, and riding my vintage Italian racing bike.

Duties include testing new releases, informing users of new features and benefits, and helping with technical issues, etc. – ensuring a friendly and respectful forum.Have served as Beta test-site for Academy award winning software including Avid Media Composer, Avid Pro Tools, Boris FX/Red and Sorenson Squeeze. Improved/suggested new features for world-class, software used on the vast majority of feature films and major artist recording labels.At request of Avid Management, created “flagship” blog on Avid website to introduce subsequent blogs to the community – http://community.avid.com/blogs/adman/.
