ABOUT ROBERT CAVAGNOL

Robert Cavagnol is an accomplished physician executive who drives results in large, complex, integrated health systems. During his 15+ years in leadership roles, he has leveraged the synergy between clinically integrated networks and employed/independent medical groups to transform community health, with a focus on value-based care and population health management. Currently, Dr. Cavagnol serves as the President for the Central Region of Carle Health in Illinois. In this capacity, he is responsible for the strategy development and operational execution of both inpatient and ambulatory care. Prior to this role, Rob was president of the $1.4B North Region for Froedtert-ThedaCare Health, the largest health system in Wisconsin. In this role, he oversaw nine hospitals and 180 care locations, and under his leadership, the organization exceeded financial, operational and quality targets. Previously, Rob served as President of St. Luke’s Clinic and Physician Enterprise, part of St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho. His accomplishments include increasing clinic revenue 30% in three years through recruitment, capacity growth and new market expansion; redesigning the $500M physician compensation structure to align with value-based care initiatives and system goals; and building a physician leadership development/mentoring program. Rob also spent 12 years at Mercy Health System in St. Louis, Missouri, advancing from general surgeon to the senior leadership team. As President of the Mercy Springfield Clinic and Physician Enterprise, he collaborated with quality leaders to achieve CMS 5-star status and an \"A\" grade from Leapfrog; he also drove patient satisfaction across ambulatory sites to the 90th percentile in the PRC survey. As Chief Physician Officer for Mercy Springfield, Rob designed and implemented a plan that created same-day access for new primary care patients. On the inpatient side, Rob built a robust physician leadership team that improved throughput in the ED, ICU and medical/surgical units, while reducing ED boarding time by 50% and decreasing the LWBS rate from 10% to 2%.Rob began his medical career in the U.S. Navy, deploying to New Orleans on a hospital ship after Hurricane Katrina and then to Fallujah, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In recognition of his outstanding service, Rob received the U.S. Navy/U.S. Marine Corps Commendation Medal in 2008.
