ABOUT ROBERT BODEN

I am an attorney with over 13 years of experience in government, including 10 years in the housing sector. I currently serve as Chief of the Troubled Asset Branch of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. My team conducts oversight of and enforcement against the owners of troubled housing developments, including for embezzlement, delinquency and default, poor physical condition, abandonment, and other violations of the law, regulations, and business agreements. My team is currently addressing issues at more than 150 of the most complex properties in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Hawaii. During my prior 10 years in the housing industry, I led multiple teams across HUD field offices and in HUD Headquarters. My teams in the San Francisco, Honolulu, Sacramento, and New York field offices oversaw properties participating in two of HUD\'s largest programs - Section 8 rental assistance and Federal Housing Administration (FHA) mortgage insurance. Thereafter, I transitioned to HUD Headquarters to establish an operations and planning team, where we created the Multifamily Performance Goals, a national performance-metrics framework still in use today. Later I led HUD\'s Budget and Legislation Coordination team, managing aspects of HUD\'s $52 billion budget. I received my juris doctor degree from The George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C, and I hold an active law license in D.C. and an inactive license in California. I graduated summa cum laude from Central Michigan University with degrees in economics and political science.
