About Robert B. Kleiman
I have worked in cardiac safety for more than 20 years. As the Chief Medical Officer of Clario (formerly ERT), which is by far the largest cardiac safety core lab, my goal is to insure that the solutions we recommend and deliver are aligned with science, ethics, and relevant governmental regulations for the FDA, Health Canada, EMA and PMDA. I’m responsible for the ERT cardiac safety consultation group, assisting clients in designing trials and analyzing their cardiac safety data. Before joining ERT, I was in clinical practice for 12 years, seeing patients as a board certified electrophysiologist, and training other doctors; I also spent several years doing basic cellular cardiac research. Both in my practice, and as overseeing ECGs for ERT, I’ve personally read more than a million ECGs and tens of thousands of holters. As Clario’s CMO, I constantly interact directly with clients in pharma, ranging from “virtual” pharmaceutical companies with a handful of employees to big pharma companies with tens of thousands of employees. I know that to best serve you, I need to understand how you view your needs, and balance this against our experience with the regulatory authorities. Clients comment that I take the time to listen to them, am easy to talk to, and that I focus on their needs with no agenda other than what is best for them. You can count on me to: Return phone calls and emails promptly; Provide the most up to date advice consistent with the latest scientific and regulatory requirements; Take whatever time is needed to explain all aspects of your needs; Bring a practical approach to the problem.
