After exploring various domains, I believe remaining in my current one of risk management is the ideal spot for me but most importantly as it relates to property. By exploring various projects with my current team I\'ve found an interest in Property Insurance/ Risk Fund.Along the way I\'ve familiarized myself with tools such as SQL Server Python RExcel ArcGIS/QGISPowerBII am aware of the changing landscape from ETL to ELT so becoming affiliated with that process is a goal of mine as I write this. Aside from knowing these tools, my role has taught me that still the most important aspect with working with data is understanding the domain as well as knowing how to communicate with colleagues inside or outside your team.Parting Note:Being my formal education is geology.    Large reasonability incudes applying business logic using various tools to answer questions presented by management, stakeholders, and other internal teams as it relates to insurance and member engagement.Major Projects-Member Value Reports: Worked with team lead early on gathering and reshaping claims, policies, and other financial data using SQL for each client (member). Provided scenario text for each line of coverage using R. Final table resulted with a record for each member aggregated then overlaid on an Rmarkdown file sent to the members summarizing their historical coverage- Statement of Values Exportation: Utilizing Python\'s Playwright Orchestra module to automate downloading our members\' statement of values. Applied data quality procedures and cross validation between systems to detect missing data or field errors- Transform PDF and Images to Plain Text (Ongoing): Currently working on transforming variety of documents saved as PDF or Images into plain text using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) through Python. This transformation allows for other analysts on the team to apply Natural Language Processing to these documents- Pricing Weather Dashboard: Transform business logic and pricing matrix to SQL to build Pricing Weather Model. Plugged in model to PowerBI to provide underwriters with difference scenarios for weather deductibles and contribution rates for renewing property members.
