ABOUT ROBERTA HENRY

I am a dedicated hard-working and goal-orientated professional with over 25 years experience in the Conference and Events industry primarily in the public sector. Having worked for the CBI organising high profile conferences, for up to 300 people, linked to visits to the UK from foreign dignitaries including Nelson Mandela and UK royalty, I then spent the bulk of my career to date with the Local Government Association. As Deputy Head of Events, I had responsibility for the LGA\'s showpiece annual events and a team of administrators who assisted in the delivery of these events. These complex events involved a mix of plenary sessions with high profile speakers, including Government ministers, the Royal Family and overseas dignitaries; up to 70 breakout sessions and study tours; full social programme; transport and accommodation; print design and technical requirements - including initial tender and briefing to ensure financial regulations are adhered to. This also includes negotiations with venues and suppliers and the close working and management of staff (internal staff and external specialist and temporary personnel) both pre-event and on-site.
