About Roberta Rodrigues
Immigrants, we get the job done\"- Lin-Manuel Miranda I\'m a Brazilian-born immigrant passionate about the women\'s sports industry and improving the lives and opportunities for minorities through communications and marketing. In my role as Basketball and Business Communications Coordinator with the four-time WNBA Champion Seattle Storm, I pride myself in elevating the business and community aspects of a succesfull, multi-million dollar valued sports franchise that puts women and minorities at the forefront of their decision-making process. And while passion drives me, data is my guide on the road to achieve success both for the organization I represent and myself. I believe analytics is essential to achieving long-term positive reputation among stakeholders, therefore I rely on metrics from highly ranked softwares specialized in measuring media traffic, publicity value, and sentiment, which paired with my ten-year experience in the marketing industry enables me to tailor Strategic Communications Plans, including Multiplatform Strategy and Crisis Communications. As a millennial, I learned to navigate an ever-changing communication market in which Public Relations had to adapt from majoritarily leaning on Print media towards all sorts of online platforms. Although my role is heavily focused on the business side of the franchise, I am deeply involved on the basketball sphere too. That\'s where my passion for communications started. I help develope game material, such as game notes, league-wide stats and coach game books, as well as coordinate player, coaching staff and executives press conferences. I am also the media liaison and credentials manager for home games, playing a key role in assuring all media needs are met and journalists can do their jobs smoothly. Internationally, founded Beta Basket—the first women\'s basketball news portal in Latin America, as well as served as the Public Relations representative for Brazilian WNBA and Olympic players, and was featured in the Brazilian National Basketball League Marketing Team. In addition, I had a five-year stunt in the automotive industry communications with SD & PRESS Consultoria, where I learned most of the hard skills for Public Relations, Media Planning, Crisis Management and Event Management.
