Senior executive with extensive experience in ESG, intellectual property strategy, innovation and corporate sustainability. Currently serving as Chief Sustainability Officer responsible for leading the sustainability agenda, developing and executing ESG strategies at the European Patent Office, the second largest European intergovernmental organisation with 39 Member States and staff. Since 2017 member of the EPO Management Advisory Committee, which assists the EPO President in managing the Office.Previously Chief Operating Officer, overseeing patent search, examination, opposition across the high-tech mobility, mechatronics sectors, healthcare, biotechnology, chemistry industrial sector. Roberta also serves as Coordinator for Diversity & Inclusion at EPO, driving initiatives to promote accessibility, representation, and inclusive leadership within the organization.With a PhD in Organic Chemistry from TU Munich and a Diploma in Corporate Governance (CGI), Roberta combines scientific, operational, and governance expertise.Roberta is fluent in German, English, French, Italian, with basic Mandarin and Spanish. Roberta is mother of three children and currently resides in Munich, Germany.
