ABOUT ROBERT STEWART

Robert Stewart is the Chief Technology Officer at Arbital Health, where he leads the designand deployment of advanced healthcare platforms that enable providers, payers, and healthsystems to succeed in value-based care. With a career spanning the intersection of healthcareIT, machine learning, and large-scale system architecture, Robert is recognized fortransforming complex data into actionable insights that improve outcomes and reduceadministrative burden.Before joining Arbital, Robert served as CTO and Chief Architect at apree health andCastlight Health, where he directed technical roadmaps, managed senior engineering teams,and pioneered predictive analytics and personalization engines used by millions of patientsacross the U.S. His leadership helped drive the successful migration of Castlight’s platform toGoogle Cloud, the development of the vaccine search and inventory engine behindVaccines.gov, and the creation of Castlight Action–the first healthcare personalization engineleveraging claims and behavioral data.Earlier in his career, Robert held senior technology leadership roles at Voxify, Avaya, LucentTechnologies Bell Labs, and Mosaix, where he directed large distributed engineering teamsand co-authored a U.S. patent for intelligent contact routing. He began his career as aResearch Scientist at the University of Texas at Austin, where he published in the Journal ofthe Acoustical Society of America.Known for his approachable leadership style, Robert is passionate about mentoring technicalteams, fostering inclusive engineering cultures, and making healthcare more accessiblethrough data-driven design. A frequent speaker at industry conferences, he has presented onmachine learning, healthcare technology, and AI adoption at events such as Google Cloud Next, the AHIPInstitute, Global Big Data Conference, and AI in Healthcare Summit.Robert earned his B.A. in Physics and Philosophy from Rice University and studied ElectricalEngineering and Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin. He holds a U.S.patent in workflow management and remains committed to advancing innovation inhealthcare technology.
