Reporting to members of the Board of Directors as part of the Senior Management Team.• Highest technical authority within JDR.• Responsible for defining the technology development roadmap, in coordination with Sales directors and customers, to enable the company to meet the evolving needs of the market and to expand into new markets. • Responsible for generating business cases for technology development and for presenting them to the CEO and board members, on a regular basis, to secure CAPEX investment.• Responsible for over £5M budget spread across typically over 10 concurrently running development projects, for which successful completion enabled access to additional markets of value over £100M. For example the deep-water steel tube umbilical market, which is currently experiencing rapid growth. • Managing several teams across the UK, and their leadership made of Principal Engineer product line experts, including generating and tracking team specific KPI’s to ensure effective delivery of new product qualifications to meet the technology roadmap. • Strategic, data driven, department restructuring for optimal efficiency and succession planning. • Presenting at international, industry-leading conferences to raise awareness in the industry of key technical hurdles and JDR’s innovative solutions to overcome them. For example, innovative wet-design 132kV cables for deep water dynamic, floating wind and Oil & Gas, applications.
