Bob is a fourth-generation attorney in his family, and now of-counsel with the law firm Lane & Waterman LLP. He is a past President of the Iowa State Bar Association (20••••13). For 43 years, Bob has primarily defended individuals and businesses sued in state and federal courts throughout the country. He focuses in the areas of professional malpractice, product liability, personal injury, and insurance coverage litigation. Bob frequently serves as a guest presenter at litigation seminars. A Bettendorf, Iowa, native, he is active in the Quad Cities community and State of Iowa, currently serving as a Trustee of the Hubbell-Waterman Foundation (Chair, 20••••25), and on the Boards of Directors for the United Way of the Quad Cities (Vice Chair, 20••••25), the Friendly House (past President), the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers (Vice President, 2024), and The Iowa Legal Aid Foundation. Bob also serves on the Iowa State Committee for the American College of Trial Lawyers (past State Chair), and is a member of the Investment Committee at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral (past Senior Warden of the Vestry). He lives in Bettendorf with his wife, Kim, and their two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Bob enjoys traveling the country in a motor home with Kim and their dogs and visiting their two adult sons and extended family. Bob also enjoys participating in endurance sports, including having completed 14 marathons and 5 Ironman Triathlons.
