About Robert T. Sakowitz
Mr. Sakowitz founded the Hazak Corp, and became an independent full time marketing, strategic planning, and general business consultant in 1990, after twenty-nine years of executive and board advisory experience in the fashion retail, restaurant, real estate development, petrochemicals, manufacturing, transportation and financial services businesses. Since then, companies retaining his services have ranged in size of gross revenues from “start-ups” to $8 billion. Operationally, as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sakowitz, the Houston-based chain of high-fashion specialty stores, from 19••••90 and as Executive Vice-President, General Merchandise Manager and Director of Sales Promotion for ten years prior, he built the company to international fashion recognition, taking sales from $32 to $155 million before the oil/energy crash in mid-1980s; instituting a turn-around until his Australian partner was liquidated. His contacts and business history cover knowledge from the United States, nations of the European Union, the Middle East and Asia. In addition to global trips related to his business, he has traveled on behalf of the City of Houston, The Houston Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Houston International Festival, and the Greater Houston Partnership specifically to the Philippines, England, France, Mexico, India, Argentina, China and Panama.
