ABOUT ROBERT SMITH
After leaving education, like many, I didn’t expect to find myself in insurance. Fast forward some 25+ years, I have been fortunate to work in a great industry, focusing on private medical insurance and wellbeing. Throughout my career, I have worked alongside many inspiring individuals who have helped to make me the individual I am today. I am currently leading the corporate new business team at AXA Health, focusing on driving profitable business, meaningful relationships and overseeing the new business function. My experience spans across, distribution, pricing, claims, underwriting and operations for healthcare risks, both in the UK and Internationally. I have an in depth knowledge base with a strategic focus on growth, digital transformation and relationship management. I lead with intent, focusing on providing the best support to the wider workforce through excellent communication and trust. I feel very lucky to work in such a great industry which is evolving and supports the NHS with its own pressures of increasing hospital waiting times and increasing costs of treatment.
