About Robert Rice

I am a fellowship trained and Board Certified orthopedic surgeon practicing at Tanner Clinic. I am currently serving as the chair of the department of Orthopaedic Surgery. I am committed to providing high quality, compassionate care to patients of all ages with a special interest in treating injured athletes through either surgical or non-operative methods. I enjoy helping athletes return to their sport of choice and all patients to return to their vocations, hobbies, and interests. I received my orthopedic training at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN where I was instructed by world renowned surgeons in state of the art and evidence based methods of treating injuries to the musculoskeletal system. I learned to treat injuries of the shoulder, knee, hip, ankle, elbow and wrist through surgical and non-operative techniques. After completion of my residency I spent one year of fellowship training at Taos Orthopedic Institute where my eduction focused on sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. I treated injured athletes of all ages and ability levels on the field of play, in the office, or especially on the slopes of Taos Ski Valley.
