I prefer \'hands on\' engineering management and supervisory positions with an emphasis in the technical and scientific arena. An experienced machine vision professional knowledgeable with assorted imaging, illumination and sensing technologies with the ability to travel both domestically and internationally. I function well both independently and within a team and am frequently called upon to take the lead on new projects – primarily small to medium. As such the Applications Engineering world - which allows one to get their hands dirty, constantly collaborate with a variety of engineering disciplines on new and leading edge technologies and, most importantly, see things through from concept to installation/ deployment - remains a best fit for myself. The ever changing landscape in technology requires frequent learning and an ability to accept and manage change. Indeed failing to accept change in this arena leaves one without the skill set to succeed and grow. To assist with this I keep up to date by reading/ subscribing to technical and professional publications, attend webinars on primarily machine vision and technical matters, research on the internet and purchasing of technical materials. This is all accomplished independently without input, guidance, advice or monetary compensation from current employers. I also utilize mentoring relationships with other engineering professionals to keep abreast of new developments. I love technical challenges but absolutely hate/ despise losing to competitive products for any reason! This serves as a personal and professional motivator. Strong desire to not only meet but exceed competitive performance and become the industry leader with the company I serve.

   Creates and executes the Application Department plans to support the sale of Key Technology’s line of optical inspection/machine vision and material handling solutions. Manages the global Applications Engineering staff. Works with the Global Sales and Global Sales Operations leaders to establish strategy necessary to achieve Key’s corporate goals. Manages staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and motivate the Application Engineering Department. Interface with Key’s leadership for input on future Application Engineering needs/direction. Interface with Key’s Global Innovation Manager.
