The project involves the development of 106 new production wells and 15 gas injection wells, construction of a new oil and gas gathering system and a third-generation injection (3GI) plant and installation of five 130MW gas turbine generators (GTG) and heat exchangers. As Welding Quality Supervisor my role consists of supervising a team of mechanical/welding/painting inspectors to ensure the construction of the TCO expansion meets the quality requirements of the relevant Local and International codes and Chevron specifications such as: All weld joints were classed as NPTCW (Non pressure tested closure welds) which involved close visual and NDT inspections of all aspects of work from the fit up, and every stage of welding from root deposit to capping welds. There was intermediate RT carried out after 10mm of weld deposit to ensure that there were zero indications in root weld of the joint. Reviewing the radiographs from subcontractor at both the IRT stage and final weld to ensure no recordable indications were present. Writing Non Conformance Reports, surveillance reports and Reviewing PAUT reports to ASME B31.3 severe cyclic criteria. Attending quality and construction meetings with the main contractor. Reviewing welding and NDT procedures and ITP’s Verifying welder qualifications prior to mobilising to site.
