Hey everyone! I\'m thrilled to share a bit about myself and my journey so far. My name is Robert Pickens, but most people call me Rob. With a background in management, customer service, and a passion for mental health, I\'ve found my current calling as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).Throughout my career, I\'ve honed my skills in managing teams and providing exceptional customer service. I\'ve learned the importance of effective communication, problem-solving, and maintaining a positive work environment. These experiences have shaped me into a versatile professional who thrives in dynamic settings. My interest in mental health led me to pursue a degree in psychology from Alabama State University. During my time at ASU, I immersed myself in coursework that deepened my understanding of human behavior and psychology. I also had the opportunity to engage in research projects that explored various aspects of mental health. This academic journey not only provided me with a strong foundation but also ignited my passion for making a difference in the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges. As an RBT, I\'ve had the privilege of working closely with individuals in short-term housing facilities, clinics, schools and in-home settings. It\'s been incredibly rewarding to witness their growth and progress. I implement behavior intervention plans, provide personalized support, and create nurturing environments that foster independence. Utilizing positive reinforcement and evidence-based strategies, I strive to help individuals develop essential skills and manage challenging behaviors. Seeing their smiles and accomplishments is the greatest reward. One of my greatest strengths lies in my exceptional interpersonal skills. I truly value building meaningful connections with others and creating a supportive environment. I believe that genuine empathy, active listening, and compassion are key in establishing strong relationships. It\'s my goal to make everyone I interact with feel heard, valued, and understood.
