I co-founded and currently project manage an ecological restoration charity, Stump Up For Trees, based in the Bannau Brycheiniog. I am the author of several books including the bestselling \'It\'s All About the Bike: The Pursuit of Happiness on Two Wheels\' and \'The Man Who Made Things Out of Trees\' and \'Slow Rise: A Bread-Making Adventure\', all published by Penguin. As a journalist, I write for the FT, Observer and Guardian. I have presented TV documentaries for BBC and Sky. I am a trustee of Woodland Heritage and patron of the Small Woods Association. I am a regular keynote speaker on trees, woodlands and forestry, amongst other subjects.
