I\'m a decision maker on the Private Companies team at Baillie Gifford. The Private Companies team specialises in providing expansion capital to late-stage private-companies. Our investment vehicle structures protect us from needing to push companies into IPO or trade-sale decisions, and let us continue to support investee companies even after they enter public markets. We believe that this is the best way of driving alignment between our clients and the long time horizons of the companies their capital helps fund. We are proud to be truly long-term supporters of the management and employees of our holdings, and try our very best to help them focus on the strategic decisions that matter most for their mission, rather than distracting them with demands to obsessively avoid tactical mis-steps. Among others, our holdings include Affirm, Bytedance, Epic Games, Flix Mobility, Stripe, SpaceX, Tanium, Wise and Warby Parker.
