About Robert McDonald

McDonald is a Medical Doctor who received his degree from Southwestern Medical School. He pursued his training in internal medicine between Parkland Hospital and Barnes Hospital (Washington) University. He trained in Pulmonary Medicine at Washington University and then received an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. He worked as a Health Economics Physician at Eli Lilly & Company where he performed cost-effectiveness studies on a number of company\'s products. He worked for ten years at Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in a variety of roles including Corporate Medical Director over Medical Policy and Medical Director of Anthem Prescription Management and architect of the Anthem strategy for Specialty Pharmacy.    Dr. McDonald founded Aledo Consulting in 2004 to assist medical technology companies and those who invest in them to navigate the pathway toward a successful product reimbursement plan. The Aledo Consulting has assisted companies from venture-backed start-ups to Fortune 100 companies in the medical device, diagnostics, health care informatics, pharmaceuticals and health insurance fields. The company focuses on developing strategies and executing tactics for companies addressing the private payor market in the United States which is comprised of 200 million Americans. Dr. McDonald spent two years at Indiana University creating Life Science companies of of university owned intellectual property. He serves on the Board of FAST Diagnostics and Q-Trac Software.
