About Robert MacMillan
I am the weekend editor for Reuters.com, where I supervise the presentation of our stories, photos, video and social media from early Saturday morning until late Sunday night. I also write the Reuters Weekend Briefing newsletter.I previously ran the Reuters.com online production desk from New York and India, and was a desk editor for Reuters in New York as well as a reporter covering media, particularly the future of the journalism business. I\'ve interviewed a variety of well-known people, including Rahul Gandhi, Rupert Murdoch, Macy Gray and Mick Fleetwood, and have been deployed to cover stories in dangerous reporting conditions as a fully-trained \"hostile-environments\" journalist.I worked at the Washington Post\'s online desk as a reporter, editor and homepage staffer, and served as a reporter and editor at other publications in the Washington, D.C. area, covering local politics in Alexandria and technology policy on Capitol Hill.I also am the author of the book \"Haiku 61 Revisited: The songs of Bob Dylan, interpreted as haiku\" and the novel,\"The History Student.\" I am at work on a new novel,\"I Knew Him Before He Was Famous.\"My skills include reporting, non-fiction and fiction writing, headline/blurb editing in news, and editing other people\'s work, whether short or long form. My most recent book-length editing project was the memoirs of Robin Storey, who records under the name Rapoon and was a founding member of the influential industrial band Zoviet France. I speak fluent German, reasonable French and Portuguese, and can read and write Hindi and Urdu, languages over which I have a beginner\'s command.
